Tom Watson told of shock Labour oust plot by text as he slams ‘sectarian’ attack and begs Corbyn to stop it
LABOUR's Tom Watson has called a plot to oust him as deputy leader a "straight sectarian attack" on a "broad church party".
The motion was brought by Jon Lansman, founder of grassroots campaign group Momentum and a key ally of Jeremy Corbyn. Mr Watson said he would be unable to reach Brighton in time for another meeting scheduled for this morning so had asked to be allowed to dial in, but the NEC has since refused the request.
