His brother hit the headlines after condemning a recent policy from the government
Wayne Lineker has been slammed on social media after sharing an inflammatory post about his brother Gary Lineker’s comments on the government's latest immigration policy.
Many took his tweets as a violation of the BBC’s impartiality rules, though the broadcaster is yet to reveal any consequences. “I’m gonna go with 'no comment' on this one guys. #matchoftheday #snatchoftheday,” Wayne added in the caption. “This is stirring up divide and hate … if people learned to live with compassion & kindness then the world would be a better place.”
The controversy began when the Home Office released a video outlining their policy. Gary, a keen Twitter user, replied: “Good heavens, this is beyond hurtful.”
