Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney continues to hunt for his next role after leaving Plymouth Argyle on New Year's Eve.
United reunion Speaking on the Footy Accumulators No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Sam Allardyce suggested last month whether a reunion at United as a striking coach could be a good next step for Rooney. "Is there enough for you to do as a striking coach? Because I’ve had a striking coach and I thought, yes, another voice is very good," the former Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers manager said.
Coaching return Shortly after Allardyce's suggestion about Rooney becoming a striker coach at United, Rooney announced his return to coaching will take place this month. He was named as an ambassador for Football Escapes and will be hosting his first coaching session for children at Dubai's Jumeirah Beach Hotel between February 17 and 21.Punditry battle Rooney's likely next move now is to drop into punditry having become a popular figure on the major networks for his strong views.
