Fury vs. Usyk have a rematch clause in their bout, meaning their they will run back their summer fight regardless of the result.However, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman claims they could sanction a request for Joshua to face the winner of Fury vs. Usyk.
"The WBC accepted that sanctioning and we accepted the rematch they have requested. But, if it is not anything to do with contractual or promotion, we would absolutely accept the winner to fight Joshua. "The WBC has been very much attentive to this matter. So, we have completely freed the ground for the undisputed, for a rematch, and for another fight of that level."The WBC position right now is very open to support the undisputed champion taking on the fights that the fans want to see."Fury holds the WBC world heavyweight title, with Usyk in possession of the WBA , WBO and IBF belts.
The WBA, WBO and IBF will also have their say in whether Fury and Usyk will have to honour their rematch clause.If unsuccessful, Joshua will likely take another fight in the interim before potentially landing the winner of Fury vs. Usyk.
