Lancashire Day is fast approaching and it's an opportunity to celebrate all the things we love about the Red Rose county.
The event has been marked every year since 1996 and always falls on November 27. This is to coincide with the day in 1295, when the county first sent representatives to parliament in London, on request of King Edward I. There are many ways people mark the occasion. Town criers read the Lancashire Day proclamation out throughout the county, but residents may have their own celebrations, which may include sitting together to enjoy some of Lancashire's delicacies such as the Lancashire hot pot.
