Food inflation is at around 11.5% and having a big impact on rising prices
Food price inflation has started to slow down in recent months but still remains very high at 11.5%, meaning that while prices are likely to continue to increase just at a slower rate than previously when it was close to 20%.
Belfast Live looked at the own brand and value ranges at Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's in March in order to compare their prices and have checked again three months later to see if there are any differences, with some surprising results. All three supermarkets recorded lower prices than three months ago, although only just, and there does not appear to be any products that have increased.Tesco Total: £19.72Total in June: £22.98
