In a time when public safety is the primary concern for the community, Seattle's top leaders held their first public forum Thursday night.

Seattle city leaders held a public forum at the downtown Seattle Central Library on March 14, 2024. The panel consisted of Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell, Seattle police Chief Adrian Diaz, Seattle fire Chief Harold Scoggins, Community Assisted Response and Engagement Chief Amy Smith and Human Services Department Director Tanya Kim.

Alicia Dassa, an attendee Thursday, spoke with KOMO news about her 18-year-old son who was shot in 2020. Dassa said she was pleased to see gun violence being addressed, but feels adjustments need to be made to the format.
