“I expected the invasion. I had a backpack packed for emergencies. But I didn’t think it would be terrorism. In the 21st century, such war is just savage. Killing civilians, looting, raping.
“I miss life before the war, when I used to make art. Now all my stuff is left in an abandoned apartment. And I also want to walk till morning like before, without curfew, with my friends who are now either at war or gone to other countries with children. I want to spend money on nice little things, not send it to the army. But right now victory is more important. And I will do everything I can to bring it closer.
“It is now cold, and the blackouts mean we have almost lost our [food processing business]. I drive the car to keep my children warm and charge my phone so I can keep in touch with family. “I miss our beautiful blue sky without missiles flying through it. We all miss so much about life before the war.”. He has remained in Kyiv throughout the war, bringing the latest insights to his fellow citizens.
