Haghill Park is nominated in the Best School Category at Community Champions.

This merry bunch, resplendent in woolly hats with glitter pompoms, are bringing joy to the streets ofAnd their amazing efforts to add some sparkle and song to their neighbourhood have earned them a place at the Glasgow Community Champions Grand Final on December 8.

The school’s vice-captain, Omran Kawsary, who is 10, was the driving force behind getting a choir of carol singers up and running, with help from teacher Melissa Love. “We performed at the Fort, at the Forge. Complete strangers were coming up to us in town to say they had heard the children sing and it had been lovely,” adds Paula.

“They love it. They are doing lots of classic songs and some contemporary ones, but everyone’s favourite is Frosty the Snowman,” she smiles.
