A new outdoor sculpture trail based on the beloved children's book 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' has opened in Southport town centre. Families can follow a map to find ten colourful bear sculptures, each with a unique design from artists and illustrators. The trail includes clues and bear-themed questions, and there's a colouring competition at town centre cafes.
A new sculpture trail based on the best-selling children's book We're Going on a Bear Hunt has launched in time for February half term.
Maps can either be downloaded at home from the website here, or collected from The Atkinson Library, ASDA, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Vue Cinema and Waterstones. ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ was published in 1989 and was written by former Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury.Southport BID CEO Rachel Fitzgerald said: “The ‘Bear Hunt’ will be an exciting adventure for the little ones. It’s a great opportunity to explore our wonderful town and visit our businesses.
