Everton's Amadou Onana is another midfielder being linked with a move to Man United during the summer transfer window
Manchester United are reportedly interested in Everton midfielder Amadou Onana as Erik ten Hag's search for a new midfielder continues.
To set up this simulation, we used the Football Manager 2023 editor to arrange for the 21-year-old to join United before their clash with Tottenham this weekend, using FM23 to run the simulation. We then simulated the entire 2023/24 season to see how Onana could perform. Casemiro , Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes all registered higher ratings, with the latter having a great season in front of goal, grabbing 12 goals and 19 assists. Onana's arrival did allow Mount to move further forward, with the Englishman notching 11 goals in all competitions.
Despite his low average rating, Onana made the United best XI, starting alongside Casemiro in the midfield pivot whilst Mount was deployed on the left. Rasmus Hojlund struggled with injury issues, so Marcus Rashford started in the lone striker role.
