Chorley has been dubbed a 'charity shop town' with 27 shops in the town centre
UK high streets are evolving every day, with businesses closing and opening in towns and cities up and down the country. Whether your local area is famed for its restaurants, bars or independent shops - one thing's for certain is that many areas are not short of a charity shop or two.
Walking in and it’s pretty much the layout of any other charity shop, the newer and more exciting bric-a-brac displayed at the front and other treasures throughout the shop. Heading straight to the back, I notice that there’s plenty of glassware in this one selling for 50p or £1. Disappointed that I might be in the heart of charity shop town without finding any treasures, I spoke with Paul who told me that even though the shop needs more stock, it's still as busy as ever. He said: "We get about 10 carrier bags of donations a week, it's a struggle.
This is the kind of shop that you might want to bring your children to, or get a present for a younger person in your life. Unfortunately, I don't have either and so, this is yet another disappointment - but I'm not giving up just yet. At the back of the shop, it was filled with newer electrical items - kettles, toasters and sandwich makers - all for around £20 and all seemingly new.
