Located on the ground floor of their Queen Street restaurant, Ichiban announced the launch of Ichigo in Spring, and we headed along to finally try it out and see what this sushi spot offers.

When one of Glasgow's most popular Japanese restaurants revealed it was opening a new sushi cafe at its base in the city centre, we had a feeling we might be in for a treat.

Being lovers of Japanese cuisine we are probably as surprised as you are that we've left it this long to try. We had salmon, seabass, octopus and tuna nigiri, which were all delightful, with expertly cut portions of fish and the spicy prawn Uramaki which were a taste revelation in themselves. This was exactly what we had come here for and we weren't disappointed. Which is really great if you really want to mix and match from the five sushi styles on offer as well as the numerous cuts of fish, meat and veg you can try for each.
