We tried the cheapest prosecco from Tesco, Aldi, Asda, Lidl, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and M&S
Most of us enjoy a fizzy number this time of year, particularly as it's a special occasion filled with good food, company and festivities. Prosecco is a favourite during the Christmas period, with bottles of the fizzy beverage flying off the shelves for parties, gatherings and the day itself.
They're all the same size, at 75cl, or 750ml, and pretty much the same strength too, ranging from 10.5% volume to 11%. The bottles are all very different, except for those from Aldi and Asda, which, with their similar striking yellow labels, you can hardly tell apart. Most of them are extra dry, which is how we generally prefer our fizz, but there's a variety of different flavours at play.
I'm sure there are plenty of people who do care about that sort of detail, but for us it's purely about the taste - and the price of course. The Morrisons one - from 'the Best' range - is another 'made with grapes sourced from two of the best regions, Conegliano and Valdobbiadene'. It's a fine flavour and makes for a refreshing drink, but at £9.50 a bottle, or £8 with More Card, it's on the pricier side.
