Savvy couple Mandy and Ritomo revealed how they snapped up an old school bus for £3,500 and converted it into an envy-inducing home they live in with their dog
Getting onto the property ladder, especially during the cost of living crisis, is not feasible for many. But a savvy couple has shown there's a way to get around the problem.
The Canadian couple converted the old banger into a snug space they can now call home. And it even has the seal of approval from their dog, Oscar. Not only did they have to learn how to do a lot of the work themselves, they also called in favours from their loved ones where possible. The bus has its own swish piano/bar dining area, a sizeable kitchen, a cosy living space complete with TV, a loo, and a bedroom with a king-size mattress.
Mandy told us: "I don't pay $2-3000 to rent a place that's not mine, I live in an area of Canada that I would absolutely never ever be able to afford otherwise. I have hot showers in a forest every day. I have no utilities, I create my own electricity, my water consumption is very low... cleaning takes like 15 minutes."
These are small prices to pay though – as Mandy loves her life. She said: "There's no luxury that I am missing here. I even have a VR, a TV, a PS5, huge kitchen. I'm all set."
