Drier days are ahead in Yorkshire despite the continuation of showers before a more rain arrives this weekend.
The Met Office said: "It will continue generally cloudy and breezy with occasional outbreaks of rain, heavy at times especially later. "Hill fog persisting. Mild. Maximum temperature 17 °C."Tomorrow, conditions should remain drier and brighter, and this more pleasant weather is expected to last into Friday. However, later that day cloud, wind and rain will move in, particularly overnight and into Saturday.
For this period, the Met Office added: "There is potential for a deep area of low pressure to pass over or close to the west/northwest of the UK early in this period, potentially bringing a spell of very strong winds and heavy rain, especially to parts of the north and west.
