Sydney siders are being warned to brace for a heatwave this week, with temperatures across the city rising significantly, especially in Western Sydney . Temperatures are set to climb from Tuesday, reaching 29C during the day and 21C at night, in the city. Wednesday, however, will be the hottest day in the city, with a top of 32C and a minimum of 22C, though it is expected to be mostly cloudy.
Areas such as Parramatta and Penrith are set to experience extremely high temperatures , with highs of 38C on Tuesday and Wednesday, and only minimal drops in temperature at night. Even as the heatwave peaks mid-week, Western Sydney will see temperatures staying in the high 30s during the afternoon, and the mercury will not dip much lower than 18C overnight. Locals and those working and visiting the west are urged to stay hydrated and take precautions against the extreme heat.
