Heavy rain and strong winds are set to hit Glasgow on Friday (December 6) afternoon, with the Met Office issuing weather warnings as Storm Darragh makes landfall.
Glasgow and the west have been issued with two yellow weather warnings as Storm Darragh edges closer to the UK.
The warning for heavy rain comes into force at 3pm, and will last until noon on Saturday. The strong wind warning also comes into force at 3pm, and will last until 6am on Sunday. The forecaster said that rainfall of 20-30m is excepted widely, but some areas may see up to 60mm. Meanwhile, wind gusts of 60mph are likely in some areas, with coastal areas expected to see gusts of 70mph.
"Rainfall of 20-30 mm is expected widely and as much as 50-60mm over the higher ground of the south and southwest. As it is falling onto saturated ground may lead to some local flooding and transport disruption."
