The Carlyle Group’s Michael Britton is taking one of the best corporate development jobs in the country.

The Carlyle Group’s Michael Britton is headed to Wesfarmers to run its big business development team, filling the role formerly held by ex-KKRIt is understood Britton will return to Western Australia to become Wesfarmers’ new executive general manager of business development, overseeing its internal MTrevor Collens

Britton spent the past eight years at Carlyle in Sydney, having cut his teeth in investment banking at UBS. He was involved in Carlyle’s investments in iNova Pharmaceuticals, Accolade Wines and Coates Hire. He replaces Aaron Hood, who has been Wesfarmers’ interim executive general manager of business development since July.

The job, arguably the best corporate development posting in the country, was formerly held by Ed Bostock, who is nowwill have some investments team re-stocking to do when he takes the reins next month.
