Lachlan West is competing with Hayze Perham and Latrell Siegwalt for the opportunity to become the backup fullback for Reece Walsh at the Brisbane Broncos . West, a 22-year-old signed to the Burleigh Bears, joined the Broncos on a train-and-trial basis. Tristan Sailor previously held the role before moving to St Helens. Athletes on development and trial contracts can be selected to cover players later in the season, as Sailor did before securing a full-time contract.
