West Ham have not found signing players an easy task this summer, though. So much so that the relationship between David Moyes and those around him is reportedly straining, andHowever, the transfer for Rice’s replacement might be around the corner. They’ve already agreed upon personal terms with Ajax midfielder Alvarez, andHe states West Ham have lodged their ‘first official offer’ of £30million for Alvarez. Plettenberg adds that both clubs ‘want to find an agreement soon’.
Signing a replacement for Rice in general will be a boost for Moyes’ side. It may ease the tensions at the club, and crucially, it would be the first signing made with the money from Rice – and the first signing at all this window.
