Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin should be a “no-brainer” for West Ham this summer., the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested it would cost between £25-30million for Everton to cash in on their star forward.
Calvert-Lewin has failed to agree terms on a new deal at Goodison Park ahead of his contract expiring in June 2025.Wyness believes the Englishman is a top Premier League striker when he’s fit and West Ham should take up the chance to sign him.“He has only got a season left, but there is no doubt when he’s fit he’s a Premier League striker of the highest order.
“Thanks to Sean Dyche being genuinely patient and really clever about the way he handled his injury situation last season. He did lay him off when he really needed him back, but he still stuck by the player and his body. “He’s turned down the contract offer from Everton right now. There is only one year left on his contract, so that’s why I’m putting him at that lower level.
