West Ham star Mohammed Kudus didn’t deserve to be handed a five-game ban following his sending-off against Tottenham.it seems to be an “over-the-top reaction” to extend the Ghana international’s suspension by a further two matches.
The 24-year-old was handed a red card in his side’s 4-1 defeat against Tottenham for kicking defender Micky van de Ven and pushing both the Dutchman and midfielder Pape Matar Sarr in the face. The attacker has now seen his ban extended from three to five games, meaning he won’t be able to return to action until 3 December against Leicester City.
Kudus was also handed a £60,000 fine, while West Ham were fined £30,000 for failing to control their players.Borson revealed he has been “surprised” by the FA’s reaction to the incident.“I was surprised when that announcement came out.“If you were to go back and look at the five-game bans that have happened over history, there aren’t many of them.“It seems to be quite an over-the-top reaction, but obviously it was well trailed.
