TWO SECOND half West Ham goals has almost condemned Leeds to a return to the...
It was do or die for Leeds but this 3-1 loss only gives them a slim chance of survival. They will need to beat Spurs on the final day of the season and hope that Everton fail to beat Bournemouth
West Ham went into their final home game of the campaign knowing that their top flight status was secured as was a place in the Europa Conference League final next month. There was a bit a swagger around the London Stadium with that final in mind, their first in nearly 50 years. An entertaining first half saw Patrick Bamford with an early opportunity but his dubious first touch resulted only in a goal kick when he should have done better when attacking the United penalty area. The lively Bamford then set up Rodrigo who was equally wasteful.
Just past the half hour mark, home captain Declan Rice – on the back post -expertly tucked home after being found by a tidy Bowen pass. It may well be Rice’s last goal for the Hammers at London Stadium with him touted to move during the summer.
