Jay Doig wants to become only the fourth person to run the picturesque but challenging route
A West Lothian man is aiming to become only the fourth person to run the picturesque but gruelling North Coast 500 route for charity.
Over the course of approximately 10 days, Jay, from Whitburn, who turns 23 on the day he sets off, will cover over 500 miles, averaging between 50 to 70 miles per day through a combination of running and walking. Jay’s determination to conquer this route not only showcases his personal resilience but also serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for the community.
Jay said: “I’ve always felt the need to push myself, both mentally and physically, beyond the ordinary. While many races in Scotland are over and done with in a day, I wanted a challenge that was more enduring, something that hopefully resonates with people.
