West Lothian College's ECOHOUSE exemplifies the college’s dedication to promoting sustainable living and education
Angela Constance MSP recently visited West Lothian College's ECOHOUSE, a pioneering initiative launched this summer.
The ECOHOUSE encompasses two semi-detached homes designed to advance Scotland’s goals for achieving a net zero carbon economy. As the first centre of its kind in Scotland, it provides students with essential skills in sustainable construction and renewable energy sectors. The ECOHOUSE includes a Platinum Building and a versatile training shell. The Platinum House is equipped with features such as triple glazing, solar panels, and electric vehicle charging facilities. Meanwhile, the training shell offers adaptable training opportunities for installations like air source heat pumps and photovoltaic panels.
