Boys with additional support needs (ASN) who had relied on special taxi service have now been told they’ll need to make a different way to class.

Frantic parents of children with autism and ADHD have hit out at West Lothian Council after a specialist taxi service was stopped for their two youngsters.

Another concerned mum, Jayne Duncan, says her boy Finlay has “no danger awareness” and has been severely bullied in the past. “He would have to cross a few roads including a very busy main road to get the school bus and he doesn’t pay attention to his surroundings so that’s an accident waiting to happen and I’m not willing to put my son in danger.

“My son has not attended his first day back at school this week so is missing out on important education as I will always put his safety first and he has also refused to get the public school bus as he is afraid.”
