The kids have won regional and national trophies, however, it is now getting a little harder due to funding
A small group of students from S1 to S5 have been competing in a global competition known as the IET First Lego League.
The kids have won regional and national trophies, however, it is now getting a little harder as the competition has broadened to include more private schools, who have access to more time and funds than Bathgate does.Tracey Bredski, science teacher at Bathgate Academy, said: “Every year we are at a disadvantage as we need to raise the money to register to compete and borrow the robot needed to complete the challenge.
Tracey said the school has a group of students who are willing to go to local feeder primary schools to get students excited about the competition and they can continue doing it when they come to secondary school.
