West Midlands Ambulance Service is the first trust to use the tech for student paramedics.

Learners are given an hour on the virtual reality simulator to practice scenarios they will face in real life

The simulator allows drivers to tackle hazards they are likely to face once qualified, such as extreme weather or pedestrians in the road, trainers said. The simulator is comprised of an ambulance dashboard with steering wheel, moving pedals and flashing lights.
