16-year-old Brody Alexander traveled to the WWII Museum in New Orleans to take part in a tribute marking 80 years since the D-Day landings in Normandy.
Normandy. 16-year-old Brody Alexander played his bagpipes for the crowds in attendance as they gathered to honor the heroes of that day in 1944, who launched a campaign that laid the foundation for the defeat of Nazi Germany in WWII. Alexander’s great-grandfather served in WWII, so this anniversary is especially poignant for him and his family. That’s why he wanted to be part of the tribute this day.The teen is known across Central Ohio for his bagpiping skills, making a point every year to spend time playing at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum on a Veterans Day, as well as many other events.
His time in New Orleans, marking the anniversary of D-Day, is part of a series of appearances he's making this summer to honor our nation's veterans after playing his bagpipes at some of the war memorials in Washington D.C.
