Wetherspoons pub hoping to extend into vacant nightclub
A Wetherspoons pub in the centre of Lancaster has submitted plans to expand into the 'vacant' nightclub next door, formerly known as Hustle.
In plans submitted to Lancaster City Council, they hope to extend into the vacant nightclub next door which last opened its doors in 2019. These include an erection of a single storey side extension, a first floor extension, the installation of windows and doors to the front elevation and a new external seating area. The vacant nightclub which directly adjoins The Sir Richard Owen formerly operated as Hustle - a 'legendary' nightspot which shut up shop back in 2019.
In plans, the new garden would have an entrance point from Russel Street with the existing building to be demolished internally. The existing external walls would be retained but the walls would be internally stripped and taken back to existing stonework.
