Headhunters at Lygon Group have begun approaching potential successors to Henry Staunton, WH Smith’s long-serving chairman, Sky News understands.
WH Smith has kicked off a search for a new chairman as the high street and travel hub-focused retailer continues to grapple with the impact of the pandemic.
Mr Staunton, a former ITV finance chief, has been on the WH Smith board since 2010, meaning he is 'timed out' in corporate governance terms under the terms of City best practice.
