Manchester United news as Erik ten Hag relationship with Jadon Sancho leaves a big question for the next manager
Realistically, the relationship was all but over anyway. As it happens, Erik ten Hag's sacking at Manchester United ends any vague ties he had with Jadon Sancho before awkward conversations might have had to happen.

Time was certainly given to Sancho, mainly at the start, before a break due to mental health struggles saw him slip down the pecking order. Upon the return of Sancho it looked like he had been advised well. Two goals in three starts before things tailed off.
Ten Hag called Sancho out, he retaliated publicly, and neither man backed down. Sancho's last game for United will be historically written as a second half substitute in a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest. From two goals down, Sancho came on and saw his side win. The inefficiency of activity at United that saw Ten Hag and Sancho at loggerheads and not getting the best of each other is symptomatic of the club over the past decade. Within weeks of Sancho returning to training for pre-season with United, both figures are gone, almost certainly permanently.
Also, what would the new manager have to say? Does Ruben Amorim, if it is indeed going to be the Portuguese boss, have a view on Sancho? Is there actually a place for him in the stubborn three-man defence-orientated team he lines up with almost always?
