Musk, 53, famously has little time for gender pronouns, declaring on X in July 2020: 'Pronouns suck.' A few months later he tweeted: 'I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare.
'I believe in an America that maximizes individual freedom and merit. That used to be the Democratic Party, but now the pendulum has swung to the Republican Party,' he wrote in a follow-up message. Despite Musk's tweet lacking context, Harris' words in 2022 were criticized by The Atlantic's Graeme Wood who wrote: 'In fact the whole introduction gives the unfortunate impression that Harris thinks the blind are not only visually impaired but so uninformed about politics that they do not know whether the vice president is a woman and whether she uses sex-typical pronouns.'
