The camp of presumptive president Bongbong Marcos has positive views on Vice President Leni Robredo’s planned Angat Buhay non-government organization (NGO).
“Narinig namin, OK naman yan, kung ang layunin ay talagang ipa-angat ang buhay ng bawat Pilipino ,” Marcos spokesperson and chief-of-staff, lawyer Vic Rodriguez said in a interview over DZBB radio Monday afternoon, May 16.
“Sino ba naman ang hindi nagnanais na maging mabuti at mas maging maayos yung buhay ng kapwa natin Pilipino? ” asked Rodriguez. Opposition standard-bearer Robredo announced to creation of the Angat Buhay NGO on May 14, or five days after the conduct of the national and local elections. Partial and unofficial results showed Robredo with a 16 million-vote deficit against the leading Marcos.“We need all the help we can get and let’s help each other hindi po tayo ang magkakaaway ,” Rodriguez said.
“Ang kaaway natin hanggang ngayon ay yun pa rin: kahirapan; kawalan ng trabaho; kakulangan ng opotunidad; ito hong pandemic, nasa pandemic pa rin tayo dulot ng Covid-19 at dahil nga sa Covid-19 sa lockdown, etcetera, e meron din tayong pandemic of the economy ,” added the Marcos mouthpiece.
