"A 13-year-old child has an average of 1,300 images of themselves circulating on the internet. These are photos that can be misused for child pornography or that can lead to bullying in the school environment," explained Studer prior to the reading of the bill.Sharenting is the act of parents sharing content of their kids online.
Perhaps we don't give enough thought into how it can impact their lives later and just how dangerous it is to upload this content into the 'cloud' - without ever being able to take it back.I always think about the conversations I need to have with my boys when they are older around online safety, the sharing of private content and bullying.This legislation hopes to protect children from these mistakes.
