Manchester United fell to their first home defeat in the Premier League in 31 matches after a 3-1 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion
Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Jason Steele has admitted his team were surprised by how Manchester United started during their defeat at Old Trafford.
Former striker Danny Welbeck tapped home from just a few yards out in front of the Stretford End and changed the momentum of the contest. Rasmus Hojlund thought he had equalised just before the interval but VAR overruled the strike after adjudging the ball had gone out of play in the build-up.READ MORE: United supporters make their feelings known to Ten Hag
There was one reason to smile though when Hannibal Mejbri scored his first goal for the Reds with a long-range effort but it was not enough to rescue any of the points. After the full-time whistle, Steele claimed Brighton took some time to adapt to United's style but felt they deserved the win.
