They are examining evidence aroundIn its interim report, the committee said the evidence strongly suggestedThe document is expected to be published on Monday afternoon. It was compiled by Mr Johnson alongside his six-person legal team, led by Lord Pannick KC.Whatsapp messages show ‘lines to take’ on Partygate, the document will include previously unreleased messages from Jack Doyle, who was director of communications at No 10 at the time.
A source familiar with the former PM’s defence said: “The messages will show in black and white that what Johnson told Parliament was what he had been advised to say by officials and his No10 team.” It is a longstanding convention that the Privileges Committee must be chaired by an MP from the official opposition., who authored the initial report into the Partygate scandal, after she quit the civil service and accepted an offer to become chief of staff to Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer.
