Police have told people the steps to take if you think your neighbour is smoking weed
It's illegal in the UK but despite that, cannabis still seems to be widely used and the chances are you've encountered the strong smell of 'weed' on more than a few occasions.
There have been a number of pushes to decriminalise cannabis, more commonly known as weed, but for now at least it remains illegal and currently the law for anyone caught with the Class B drug is up to five years in prison, an unlimited fine, or both. Supply and production carries a longer sentence of potentially up to 14 years in prison, an unlimited fine or both.
"It is a widespread issue and we are focusing our resources to target those connected with the cultivation and dealing of the drug to help crack down on the issue. We would encourage anyone who suspects drug activity in their community to contact us."
