We might be nearing the end of the summer term, but many families are already thinking ahead to next year. Supermarkets and stores have started to release their school uniform ranges ready for September. And many are offering discounts for buying early.
How do I apply for a school uniform grant? How to apply for a school uniform grant, whether or not you're eligible, and when you need to apply varies depending on where you live in the UK. For example, the City of London council offers £160 per secondary school pupil and £60 per primary school pupil. Whereas Hackney council offers £100 grants only for children transferring from primary to secondary school.
Who is eligible? The Welsh government says for more information on the eligibility criteria and application process you'll need to contact your local council. However, all looked after children will receive the grant, whether or not thye qualify for free school meals.You can apply through your local authority. Find yours here.
