Manchester United are closing in on a double transfer to bolster their defence ahead of the Premier League opener against Fulham on Friday night
Bayern Munich duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui are both currently on their way to Carrington to begin their medicals ahead of a combined £51.5m move to Old Trafford. Their signings have been facilitated thanks to an agreement being reached with West Ham for Aaron Wan-Bissaka's departure.
The United boss wanted to make De Ligt one of his big summer purchases in the summer of 2022 during his first window at the club. However, a deal could not be completed and a move was postponed until the present day. However, he has been frustrated by the lack of opportunities for minutes in Germany and is hopeful a reunion with Ten Hag will guarantee him more chances to impress. With the formalities the only thing standing in the way of both deals being officially announced, attention turns to when United fans will be able to see their new recruits in action for the first time.
