We can expect some strong winds to be coming our way
The South East of England is set to be battered by strong winds this weekend as the Met Office have issues a yellow weather warning for wind. The warning covers large parts of the south of the country, spanning from Salcombe in Devon, Leicester and all the way up to Lincoln.
The warning is in place from 9am tomorrow until 11.59pm the same day. During this time, we are told to expect "an unseasonably windy day". The Met Office has said that this could involve some delays on the road, rail, air and ferry transport networks. Short term loss of power is also a possibility as is increased spray and large waves in coastal areas. Some exposed bridges may be closed and high-sided vehicles may also face increased delays. There's also the chance that the wind could damage trees and temporary structures such as marquees and tents.
Temperatures on Saturday will be around the 20C mark, but it may be slightly cooler in coastal areas. There's also some chance of rain so it looks like it will be a weekend spent indoors.
