It won't be wall-to-wall sunshine this bank holiday weekend
The clock is ticking towards a bumper bank holiday weekend in Greater Manchester and attentions are turning to what weather could be in store. Either the red or blue half of the city will be celebrating FA Cup success tomorrow evening .
Manchester City has already revealed plans for a bus parade on Sunday to celebrate its fourth successive Premier League title. Thousands will be limbering up for the Great Manchester Run on Sunday morning. And families across the region will be hoping for some sunshine to enjoy the extra day off. But Greater Manchester is not expected to enjoy three days of glorious sunshine.The Met Office says Saturday will see the best of the bank holiday weekend weather, with sunny intervals and top temperatures of 20C in Manchester. Sunday is expected to be wet - with heavy rain in the early morning due to fall when the Great Manchester Run takes place.
Those downpours should make way for showers and sunny spells in the afternoon. However, some parts of Greater Manchester are currently forecast to see thunderstorms. Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Trafford and Wigan could all see thunderstorms at around 1pm, according to the Met Office. Monday will see showers, with top temperatures of 15C.
