Sidney scared in Scream 7
The Scream franchise is back in theaters with Scream 7 starting on February 27. Paramount Pictures has kept the horror series alive after Melissa Barrera's firing and Jenna Ortega's exit following Scream 6 by bringing Neve Campbell back as Sidney Prescott, as she encounters another Ghostface, this time with her daughter, Tatum, caught in the killer's plan.
While the Scream movies have always played well in theaters , modern viewing habits are changing. The rise in streaming's popularity has made it more common for some to wait until this release format to experience a major new Hollywood release. Studios' shrinking windows have brought consumers these titles faster than ever, too. So where does that leave Scream 7? The movie will stream exclusively on Paramount+, that much is confirmed, even if the exact date is not known. But with Paramount's history of handling various titles and the studio's current trends, we can offer a rather reliable prediction for the timing of Scream 7's streaming release. Scream 7 Should Release On Paramount+ In April 2026 Anyone wanting to watch Scream 7 on streaming should have the opportunity to do so in just two months from the film's theatrical release. Paramount has almost exclusively followed a 60-day theatrical window schedule for its movies recently. In 2025, only Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning really drifted from that schedule . Regretting You had a 61-day gap, but otherwise, Novocaine, Smurfs, The Running Man, and more received the 60-day treatment. Even the studio's biggest 2024 films, A Quiet Place: Day One, Gladiator II, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3, had that gap. But since Paramount never went below 60 days last year, it's reasonable to expect Scream 7 to be handled the same way. That will be a change for the modern franchise, as Scream VI hit streaming 46 days after debuting in theaters and performing well . The 60-day gap schedule applied here creates a predicted streaming release date of April 28 for Scream 7 on Paramount+. That's a Tuesday, which is traditionally when Paramount brings new titles to the streaming service. Anyone wanting to watch the movie at home earlier than late April will have the chance to do so through its digital release, which will come sooner. Paramount usually employs a 32-day gap here, giving Scream 7 a predicted March 31 release on PVOD. Should the rollout go as expected, Scream 7 will receive just over one month to be exclusively in theaters. That will be where the bulk of its box office total comes. While some showings will still be going once it hits digital, Scream 7 will likely be in theaters for less than two months overall, finishing its run by the time it heads to Paramount+.
