Melanie Wilking is one of the most prominent subjects of the new Netflix documentary, “Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult.” In the three-part docuseries, the dancer and social media star, 25, opened up about her sister Miranda Derrick’s involvement in an alleged religious cult, 7M Films. In fact, the documentary might not have existed without Wilking. Producer Jessica Acevedo tells TODAY.
In the video, Wilking claimed that the situation with Derrick had been “haunting” her family “for over a year now.” The family said Derrick become involved with 7M Films, a TikTok talent management company run by Robert Shinn, who also founded a religious group called Shekinah Church. Shinn did not go on the record in the documentary.
