Rishi Sunak has called a snap election - what do the latest polls tell us about who will win?
Labour have been widely tipped to occupy 10 Downing Street after the election – but six weeks is a long time in politics.
The Prime Minister’s personal popularity among voters has been broadly dropping over the past 12 months from 43 per cent in May 2023 to 35 per cent this month, according to Politico’s poll of polls. The Reform Party has seen significant improvement in its standings in the polls, climbing from around 5 per cent this time last year to around 12 per cent this month.
The party are widely perceived to be eating into the Conservative vote, with Tory poll standings dropping as Reform’s rises. However, current polls indicate that Reform will still not win any seats. The party puts this down to the “wrong electoral system.”
