March 31 is set aside to recognize the labor movement leaders. These city offices will be closed Monday as a result.SAN ANTONIO — March 31 marks Cesar Chavez Day, the annual day set aside in celebration of the civil rights icon and labor activist who founded the National Farm Workers Association. Because it falls on a Sunday this year, most communities will recognize Cesar Chavez Day the following Monday.
That includes San Antonio, which has announced the services and offices that will be available Monday as well as which ones won't. Among the closures to keep in mind on the first day of April: libraries, city community centers, Metro Health clinics and Alamodome offices.
City community centers, including adult and senior centers, the Fairchild and McFarlin tennis centers, and the Barrera Community Fitness CenterCulture Commons Gallery at Plaza de Armas The city's 3-1-1 Call Center will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. for"urgent animal concerns and traffic signal malfunctions" .
The Housing Assistance Hotline, Homeless Connections Hotline and abatement teams won't be available. Downtown on-street parking meters won't require payment.
