Passengers are being urged to only travel by rail if necessary

Travellers are being urged to only travel by rail if necessary on November 5, 7 and 9. This comes after a long-running dispute over jobs, pay and conditions.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union and the Transport Salaried Staffs Association are taking industrial action again, threatening more travel chaos across the country.While ScotRail staff are not associated with these strikes, due to Network Rail staff taking part, train services across the country will be significantly disrupted.

For those who have an Advance ticket, customers are urged to travel as close as possible to the original day and time of travel. Customers can also can request a fee-free change of journey for all tickets types if the train is cancelled or delayed, or rescheduled from that in the published timetable of the day after you have purchased a ticket.Train times for this strike period will be available in Journey Planner and the ScotRail App in the coming days.
