An 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A, B and C drugs
Police hunting for parcel thieves bagged a suspected drug dealer instead. Officers on patrol in Prescot at around 4.30pm yesterday, December 5, were alerted to the man 'acting in a manner that aroused suspicion'. The officers, posing as delivery drivers in a decoy van, radioed to uniformed officers and directed them to the area. There followed a short foot chase and the man was detained.
Brian Loughran, Targeted Neighbourhood Inspector for Knowsley , said: “While officers in our Trojan van didn’t catch parcel thieves this time, this incident perfectly demonstrates how alert our officers are at all times to anyone who seeks to bring harm into our communities. Our plain clothes team are often able to be the eyes and ears that nobody notices, coordinating activity by our uniformed officers.
