BREAKING: White woman who called police on black bird watcher faces charges
Cyrus R. Vance said: ‘Today our office initiated a prosecution of Amy Cooper for falsely reporting an incident in the third degree.Cooper incited international outrage after she was caught on camera calling 911 on birdwatcher Christian Cooper in the Central Park Ramble.Her report appeared to be retaliation after Christian Cooper asked her to leash her dog, which is required by law in the park.
It led to an investigation from by the city Human Rights Commission and the enactment of a new law that makes it a crime to falsely call 911 on a minority The Times reported that Ms Cooper was issued a desk appearance ticket and will be arraigned on October 14.
